Live in NJ, small hills mostly flat very seasonal 95 sumer 10 winters, snows 5 or 6 times usually pretty bad. Lots of rain too.
Looking at new tires. I have the PP but run all seasons. 245/45/20
Any opinions on these 3 tires.?
Cooper Zeon RS3 G1(138 ea shipped)
GENERAL GMAX AS-05(147 shipped)
BFG G-Force Comp-2 A/S. (163 ea)
Thanks for any opinions. ...I know others are better but these best in my price range.

I have the Continental DWS06 currently and love them. However, the General AS-05 would be my second choice as I’ve had great luck with the brand. Look into 255/45/20 as they are usually cheaper (size I’m running).

I have heard lots of good things about the DWS06, I just ordered a set with new wheels so I haven't tried them yet.

I love my Conti DSW's.

In fact, so happy with them, I just had a set installed on my Wife's 2015 Hyundai Sonata Limited.

Rarely does she admit I was/am right, however that said, I was happy to have awoken to a pleasant text from her reading:

"I really like the way my car rides/handles now with these new tires. Thank you.".

So I must've done good. Oh yea baby.

My reply to her? "Thanks hun. They've served me quite well on my SHO. So I hooked you up likewise. Enjoy them!".

I love the Conti's as well, just out of my price range right now...best deals right now between the Zeon and the AS-05s...Zeon might be gripper n sportier, GMAX good in snow. Prefer great dry and wet traction, don't care about noise etc but have to be able to get me home after a snow....

I had the Goodrich GMAX AS on my 15 w/PP when I purchases the car recently. Only drove about 1K miles before changing to winter tires because we get a lot more snow/cold. Seemed decent enough and will probably use them in summers until they need replacement because I don't see getting much if I tried to sell them and flower wheels.

Does anyone run the Continental DWS 06's in snowier winter climates like New England? I'm due for some new tires and was going to try to shell out for just the Continentals instead of winter tires + new summer/all-seasons in the Spring. Maybe get some winters once the tread on the Continentals wears down. Thoughts?

I ran them here in CHI-Town during some absolutely craptastic Winter weather and they performed flawlessly.

From daily driving duties to track duties (both autocross and drag strip) as well as winter snow and ice, I can't speak more highly of them personally.

Thank you! Didn't see you're from Chicago; that makes me feel a lot better about buying them. Been reading a lot about how all-seasons aren't really adequate for winter but from all I've read the Continentals seem to be on another level.

Well I mean obviously a dedicated winter tire is going to perform the absolute best in such conditions. However, that said, the Continentals in my experiences as well as others, have performed incredibly well in their own rights. I don't think you would be disappointed by any stretch in purchasing them. In fact I would say that you would be happy enough knowing that you didn't have to purchase a separate set of tires for winter, and then something else for the three remaining other seasons.

Is tire weight a big deal? I think it is but when is it significant? Example general gmax is 24.4 lbs in 245/45/20 and the Zeon is 30lb, BFG COMP t/a 30 lb, conti dws 06 26lbs......

It is unsprung as well as rotational mass, but will you see a difference on the road or in your 60' at the track I couldn't say.

I like my conti's, only mine are the extreme contact DW (summer only) and not sure they would do well in snow. I'm about 80 miles east of Chicago and just last week changed to my blizzaks (oem size) which are phenomenal on ice.

I am told that Blizzaks are great for the first half of the treadlife, then their characteristics change to "normal" snow tires, I guess that means the phenom grip is gone.

I live in NW of Chicago, drive 75 miles round trip daily in all sorts of weather and love my Pirelli P7s Cinturato all season plus.
Hard to imagine there is a better all season tire. 8.7/10 on tirerack.

Not in my case. I on my 4th season on the blizzaks. I expected needing replacements by now but they look almost new. I expected the rubber to harden by now but driving wise they seem to grip like always as far as I can tell. I have been a blizzaks fan for over 15 years and used them on FWD, RWD and AWD.

"The Blizzak WS-tires' Multicell tread compound comprises the top 55 percent of the tires' tread depth with a standard winter tread compound comprising the remaining 45 percent. When Blizzaks are approximately 50 percent worn, their "snow platform" tread depth indicators "connect" selected shoulder tread blocks to indicate that the Multicell tread compound is almost worn out, and that the enhanced snow and ice performance is about to end."
