Tinting laws/opinion

After my repaint, I'm looking to get a little tinting done. One thing that has always bothered me about tints is only getting the rear side ones done. I'd like to have the front side ones match, or be close, to the rears.

Now in NY, does anybody know what the max tint is for the front sides? And do you think I'd be better off doing equal tint on all the side windows, or doing the rear sides a little darker?

76% or thereabouts. It's not even worth it. I have 20% all the way around and haven't been phucked with yet. (knock on wood)

I think I'm gonna do either 15 or 20%, but we'll see. I have another month or so to wait. Thanks for the advice!

Pat, you have Black interior, correct?
On my ex '91, the car was Mocha ext. with Black leather interior. I had the windows tinted 35% in the front, between 20% & 25% on the rear side windows and 15% on the back window. You couldn't really see a difference in the tint because the Black interior set it off, making it appear darker than it was.
Once you get stopped, you don't really have much of a choice in the matter of removing it or not. I've been stopped in the past for tint. I'd rather not have to go through it again. finger

i got 20% all around, and haven't been warned about my tint when being pulled over twice since having it. i wouldn't waste my money on getting my windows tinted unless its 20% or darker. like someone above said, your tint does look darker if you have all black interior. my sister gots 20 on her car and its got tan interior and it looks a lot lighter than on my car. so if you got a lighter color interior i would go to 15%

I just recently had 35% all around installed in my SHO. It isn't as dark as I was hoping, but it did make a difference in the appearance. Looks much better. I didn't want to go any darker because of local laws.

my rear windows are a shade darker and looking at it you would never know. But the black interior makes everything look a lot darker.

I have 35% platinum on my car, looks so good on a silver car. I'll post pics soon. I had 20% on my red car, with 35 in the frontand i like it dark. But even with 20 the popos can't tell during the day i'd do 20 in back and 35 on the front windows, it looks good

Get double limo all the way around. J/K wink 20% all around looks good, thats what I have. FYI any tint on the front two windows is illegal... but you can paint your back windows black and they can't do a damn thing about it. HAHA
