what are the symptoms of my timing belt slipping a tooth or two? i have a 93 mtx

for future reference for searchers, when I've seen timing off (rear cams 2 teeth late) the engine ran very warm, and would not pass emissions for anything - high nox iirc - and was significantly down on power.
