well SHO club members,

in an unbelievable bit of luck,

I picked up the 'obsolete' front and rear timing cam chain tensioners in a random attempt to order from the obsolete company from the dealer I used to work for. parts department had two from a guy that ordered everything for a top engine job and returned them, the dealer was stuck with em,
and never listed them in the locator. thank god for that

$145.xx with tax for both of em, what a deal!

I think my SHO is now blessed forever, or at least the next 120k ;> lol

Good luck to all that must acquire them for $225 a set. :bs:

One can buy 2 of the cheaper one, take them apart and then use the parts to make your old one that would have cost alot, act like new. THe parts are 100% interchangeable. Just FYI to anyone else out there.

No one seemed too interested in the group buy so I never went forward with it. On another note after studing sever "failed" tensioners I beleve that the problem is really with the oil passageway getting gunked up rather than the metal parts wearing out. It is true that the nylon wear block do wear down over time but on my 180k tensioners, with very spotty oil change history, they were only worn down about half way.

There's another place that has them. Vintage Parts Inc. - 1-877-846-8243

They have both parts available, but will not tell you a price.

You have to order them through a Ford Lincoln Mercury dealer they work with
