just do the starter bump for the crank pully. if your timing is off just by 1 or 2 teeth it could be very bad for your sho

Might want to get a Felpro WP o-ring kit and do your WP job right while you have it apart. it's quick and easy once you have the timing belt off...or you can just wait for the leak that will come later on.

What O-rings are you talking about???
I said this 3 times already, I replaced the front of the water pump, not the entire pump. There are no O-rings on that part.

Unless for some reason I have to disassemble the entire water pump just to get the timing covers off.

Hey, when you have no idea what you are doing and you come here for advice, it's really not the best move to cop an attitude like that. I'm inclined to just say see 'ya, but anyway...when you remove all the bolts holding the WP center section on, there is nothing holding the housing in place. If it moves at all, the little o-ring on the back of the housing will leak when you reassemble the WP. The proper way to replace the WP is to take the housing off the car, replace the little o-ring on the back of it, and the o-rings found on each end of the transfer tube that plugs into the back of the housing. Then pressure test the cooling system before you put everything back together to make sure everything is okay. Read these instructions:

http://www.shophoenixproject.com/lower60k/lower60k2.htm , step 23...read all of it. Then it's up to you to decide whether you want to take a chance on your halfway job. At least pressure test the system.

Good Luck.

So really it was that hard for you to answer my question? Instead, I have to ask it 3 times and look like an ****** before someone speaks up and tells me what I did wrong.

Excuse me if I'm in a bit of a hurry and I don't have the time to search the interwebz or this forum for answers. I just got back from the ER, I have no money, my SHO has been broken for 2 weeks, I'm driving some gas guzzling truck (no money for gas remember), and on top of that, it just snowed and I am doing this outside. Be glad you aren't the ignorant one just trying to get by.

I come here for help, looking for answers. If you could have told me in the first place ....instead, I'm thinking (what o-rings? Oh yeah, he must think I'm doing the WHOLE water pump). If you just said "hey, those o-rings get messed up when you unbolt the wp, you can't see them because they are behind the pump"...that would have explained everything.

So sorry if I'm wasting your time, if you will excuse me I have to go back outside and continue with my half assed job.

I guess I should have posted an answer for you.
You'll get her fixed.:)

P.S. We didn't get the 89 because I have been sooo sick this week. I'm finally feeling better.

I tried the starter bump...no good. That bolt is on there GOOD. I tried heating up the bolt so I could break it loose, still no luck.
I don't want to mess with it any more until someone comes here to check it out. So it is going to have to sit again.
