Might want to get a Felpro WP o-ring kit and do your WP job right while you have it apart. it's quick and easy once you have the timing belt off...or you can just wait for the leak that will come later on.
I said this 3 times already, I replaced the front of the water pump, not the entire pump. There are no O-rings on that part. Unless for some reason I have to disassemble the entire water pump just to get the timing covers off.
Hey, when you have no idea what you are doing and you come here for advice, it's really not the best move to cop an attitude like that. I'm inclined to just say see 'ya, but anyway...when you remove all the bolts holding the WP center section on, there is nothing holding the housing in place. If it moves at all, the little o-ring on the back of the housing will leak when you reassemble the WP. The proper way to replace the WP is to take the housing off the car, replace the little o-ring on the back of it, and the o-rings found on each end of the transfer tube that plugs into the back of the housing. Then pressure test the cooling system before you put everything back together to make sure everything is okay. Read these instructions:
http://www.shophoenixproject.com/lower60k/lower60k2.htm , step 23...read all of it. Then it's up to you to decide whether you want to take a chance on your halfway job. At least pressure test the system.
Good Luck.
I guess I should have posted an answer for you.
You'll get her fixed.
P.S. We didn't get the 89 because I have been sooo sick this week. I'm finally feeling better.
