How important is it. The car does not see much driving, and I am thinking that I could make it look nice without it. However, I may start driving her everyday. Would there be a big deal to the elements being able to attack things like the CPS... I think I know the answer. Just checking.

If you have an extra set, let me know. I just cracked my middle section. I have a post in the WTB section.

Those covers are there to protect the timing belt, pulleys, tensioner bearings and CPS from the debris that flies around under the hood as the car motors down the road and the moisture that is always present. That gritty debris can cause erosion and wear on those critical parts. Splashing through puddles can wet those same critical parts resulting in reduced grip between the belt and the pulleys and increased corrosion of the ferrous parts. Your engine would prefer that you leave the covers on.
