The quality of the rotors does not matter as much as the pads, in my experience. The rear brakes are not that important period, so if someone can recommend a pad that does not dust much, I would go with that.

I love the Hawk HPS pads, they work great. I would recommend them to anyone. I have not gotten them hot enough to fade yet, and you can ask Jason (aka yamahasho) about how I drive through the canyons. :D

so your two cents, regular rotors would be fine?

also my GTP friend uses raybestos(sp?) quite stop pads all around and he said they dont create that much dust, so maybe those for the back

I'm very happy with the Ford rotors and Ford Police pads. The pads are excellent except for the huge amount of black dust they part with when used. I usually get 2 years (25,000 miles) of hard driving before the rotors begin to warp. This is about the same length of time that the pads last.

I think that regular rotors will be fine. As long as you break in the pads according to their procedures, you will be in good shape. I did not replace my rotors when I went to the HPS (I know, bad idea) but I have had no problems.

I have heard great things about both the Quiet Stop and Brute Stop (very similar to HPS) pads from Raybestos. There is a guy selling them in the classifieds here on the SHOForum for an unbeatable deal. Check it out here!

The Hawk HPS Pads can be had through Tire Rack. Click one of the banners on the SHOForum to help support the SHOForum! The Hawk Pads are $56 for the front set. That makes the Brute Stop pads that the gentlemen in the classifieds is selling look pretty good ($55 for all 4 wheels) but I do not know how they perform. I have heard good things, but I cannot give personal experience like I can with the Hawks.

Have you considered the '96 upgrade? It would be a very minimal expense since you have a '94. The difference is night and day, and one of the cheapest and most effective mods I can think of.
