I had this happen on a dual side draft carb setup before, foggy and just above freezing.

If you just shut the engine off it takes about a minute for the heat soak to thaw it out.

As noted in the post you linked, hawkeye18 is now in the top 2%.

Har dee har har. You got way too much time on your hands, digging old posts up like that!

Although I would like to point out that what I said I'd do if it happened is precisely what I did actually do when it happened. Right down to beating on it and twisting the spring by hand. No, I didn't think of that post when I did it.

Time? That search took all of one try and about 2 seconds to find. If you search smarter, the posts you're looking for will be in the threads returned. ;) I also knew what I was looking for.

Can't say I'd beat on the throttle though. I'd let the 200F+ motor warm it up after shutting it down. It also not something I'd do on my wife's car either.

This happened to me recently while driving to vt in a snow storm. It didn't get completely stuck, but I could definitely feel it in the pedal.

It too happened when I was at a steady rate of throttle for a long period of time. Stepping on and off the pedal a couple times got rid of it.
