Throttle Body Worth It?

Wanted to see if anyone has installed a larger throttle body. I know BBK makes a 70mm. Would it be worth it to install? Any acceleration gains? I want to invest in mods that will help the car perform on the track and haven't seen much discussion about this part. Thoughts?

Better money spent elsewhere until you have other mods first.

To me, it is a low return on performance, maybe some return on bling type investment. Since everything is computer controlled, it is hard to see value.

Now if it has a built in bung for a sensor or injector, that adds value.

If you have a port matched intake manifold and ported heads I can see it making a difference, but on a mild bolt on application I see no point. Heck I don't even have one.

@mattr66 and yes Mr. Gearhead, money has been much better spent on that sweet AO tune. Got the tune and parts hooked up last Thursday, and a new personal best at the track Friday Comin for that inter-cooler soon!

Only reason I got the BBK TB was so I could use it for a boost reference for the tial

My BBK TB is being port matched to the intake, and literally everything afterwards is also being ported and polished.

So yes, probably not as big of an upgrade in the true sense, unless one's going full tilt with the mods.

I swapped to a BBK TB myself when I was tracing a boost leak and found that mine was leaking through the motor housing pretty heavily. Hard to tell if it did anything since I was fixing a mechanical issue, but it did seem to help with seat of the pants acceleration slightly.
