For the GEN 3 it is this.....

1.) PLACE a 0.002 inch feeler gauge between the TRC screw and lever arm. ADJUST TRC screw until it just contacts the feeler gauge.

2.) REMOVE the feeler gauge and turn the screw clockwise a half turn.

I would imagine it is the same for the GEN 1 & 2.

Another thing you can do is start the car, turn the screw in for a fast idle, unplug the IAC, then turn the screw out until the idle is around 500 rpms. Then turn engine off, disconnect the battery to clear learned IAC values, plug the IAC back in, start the engine and relearn the idle.

Some people wish I wouldn't....

Be sure to do this on a fully warmed engine.

Ok so I have a code for a low idle and the orange paint on the screw on the TB for the idle is flaky so I'm assuming it was messed with. Is the above info true for the Gen 2 SHO? Can someone tell me where the Idle should be set to RPM wise?

Edit; My RPM is at around 800 I think when Idling.

I suggest following the last part of the above post. It works well for me on my '97.

start the car, turn the screw in for a fast idle, unplug the IAC, then turn the screw out until the idle is around 500 rpms. Then turn engine off, disconnect the battery to clear learned IAC values, plug the IAC back in, start the engine and relearn the idle.

With the IAC still plugged in you should turn the idle up with the throttle stop until the engine is running around 1500-2000 rpm. Then unplug the IAC and back the screw out until it is idling very slow, around 400 rpm. Then plug in the IAC, disconnect the battery and let the PCM relearn idle.

I wanna say that, according to the tweecer, the stock idle is 647? And I wanna say that the tachs aren't really accurate at any range, but that's just me. There's gotta be a way to make those things more accurate. According to the tach, I shift at WOT at 6800... according to the tweecer, I shift at 7450! Which is right...?
