out of nowhere i get locked out of my bottom gears 2 ,4 and reverse. did the tranny take a shit ? have a feeling theres no fixing this. feels like im locked out.

You broke off something on your shifter linkage. Jack it up and look for a loose rod or cable bracket.

My sho is able to shift into all gears again. Weird I was so sure it was going to be like that forever. What could that be? I was on lunch when it happened out of nowhere,was forced to drive on only the top row of gears back to work. I parked it in neutral and went back to work for 4 hours came out and before i turned the car on I clutched and was able to use all gears. Drove home fine.

That is weird. The linkage is easy enough to find. Get under the car, look at the transmission and look for where a shifter would connect at the case. Sounds simple but use a search and see if you can pull up a picture. Probably a pic with people installing the shifter brace that Jose was selling years ago.

I think you have an issue with the internal linkage. I would be looking for a good trans to swap in, because it will happen again, its just a matter of time.

That may be true but crawl under there and check or have a knowledgeable person check it first to rule out easier stuff first

Is it normal to be able to move the stick inbetween gears freely with out clutch. (while the car is parked,andoff?)

Yes. Pretty much every car I have had with a stick in it does that.

Never notice that. i learned to drive stick with this car.surprised iv never noticed that,shows how careful i am i guess.
