Think I've Got A Broken SFB

I've done a few searches regaurding a clunk noise I hear when shifting into second and 3rd at medium to high rpms and I think I might have come to the conclusion that I have a broke SFB(s)

To I'm sure no ones surprise, I have no clue about such a thing. What is involved labor wise, what are parts cost...and what is actually involved in fixing it myself? Any input is appreciated.


BTW- Its not the motor/tranny mounts.

After visiting SHONut Performance.com and SHOShop, I'm aware of the parts cost. How many labor hours are involved in replacing SFB's

Well living in NY, you might have rusted bolts which might leave it as a bigger job than most..

However, I had to rotten rear SFB and I did all 4 of mine in about 4 hours. Pretty straight forward really. Just follow the writeup on shotimes. thumb

I just did mine a few weeks ago and it took me two hours.

It wasn't too bad. Just make sure you have a torque wrench when tightening.

Also go to a ford dealership, and buy two SBF recall kits. They will run 15 bones a piece.

Pre soak the SFB bolts.

Thanks man...like I stated earlier, I have no idea about these sorts of parts. :D But I still want to do it my self and with the help of info I see here and shotimes...(voice of Cheech)"I think I can do it!" :D

Now to make the decision of what to do first. 60K or suspension...I'll be thinking about that one for a few more weeks I think.
