thing on oil pan is leakin oil

theres something sticking out the backside of the motor on the oil pan that is leaking oil, its just above the drain plug, its some plug looking thing with a few wires sticking out of it. does this thing just have an o ring, anybody had or got the same problem, 94 mtx

Yes, low oil sensor. New ones available from Ford for about $55. A wire clip ring holds the wiring connector in. Remove the clip, disconnect the wires, unscrew the sensor.

If the sensor itself is not leaking you need only spend $5, and not $55.

Their is a circular metal seal with a rubber middle portion that the sensor screws into, that of course overtime can dry out and leak.

Just get a new one of those. Next time you change your oil, you unscrew the sensor - replace that seal, then screw the sensor back in and you are good to go.

You will find the sensor is leaking internally.
