pm me an approximate cost on that bad boy.

To whom were you replying? US to Canada shipping on a sub/box will be pricey $30 to $80. May as well just go to eBay Canada.

I have a JL 8w6 mounted in the stock box and powered with about 350watts from an Alpine amp. I love the sound, but I desperately need some dynamat.

I'm surprised the 8w6 wasn't too deep for it.

So, maybe this is a dumb question...How do I get the subwoofer box out of my '95? I've removed the 4 nuts at the corners, but it still doesn't drop. It feels like a "collar" of some sort connects the box to the underside of the rear deck (which makes sense). How do I complete the removal? Thanks in advance for you help.

When I did it on my 1st SHO there were two sets of nuts and bolts, I think. Took me a while to figure it out. With my new SHO I let Car Toys hassle with it.

Nope, the sub fits just fine, and the box is the perfect size according to JLs spec sheet for the 8w6. I don't rememeber what the volume of the box is, but I measured it by filling it with water.

I did have to break the four tabs on the bottom of the box that are directly under the sub. They appear to possibly be a support for the stock sub, but they are un-necessary.

How much louder are the w6's than the w3's you reckon? I've got over 2k worth of gear in my trunk (it's bolted!) and the bass from the Kicker L7 is almost overpowering to say the least.

Can you feel the w6? I couldn't really feel the w3 too much, sounded good though.

:snicker: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Are you serious?!!

LxWxH = Volume

Yeah it was overkill, but I wanted to get the exact internal volume. There are a few indents in the box that would not be factored into the LxWxH.

The W6 was JLs more "musical" sub compared to the W3. I have never heard a W3 vs W6 of the same size. A few friends had 10W3s back in High School, but the only W6 I've heard is the new 10W6 v2 and an older 12W6. I really couldn't compare the 8w3 to my 8w6.

I have 350watts going to my sub. The sub mixes very well with my JL XR 3-way setup that I have powered with about 50 x2. I don't run rear speakers. The sub is plenty loud for the music I usually listen to; Classic Rock, Alternative, and Modern Rock. If I listened to Rap and Trance more then I do, I probably would have stuck with my 2 Solobarics. I mainly went with the 8" to simplify my setup.

Once I get the rear deck dynamat'd and get it to stop rattling/vibrating, I'll bridge the amp for my front speakers to about 110-120 x2, and turn up the gain on my sub. The sub is currently only around 1/4 gain, and is no where near clipping. I honestly haven't had the sub turned up much because of the vibrating deck, but I can definitely feel it hit on the right song, it will only get better in that respect.

I think my setup is just about ideal for an SQ setup which is all I'm interested in to begin with.

If you're off a little, it's not really going to hurt performance ;)

Definitely true. It was more for curiosity. This was the first box I ever had that wasn't made of wood, so I wanted to try the water measurement. I had a large measuring cup too, so it only took an addition minute to do it this way versus using a tape measure.

I wanted to make sure the box would be close enough for the 8w6 before I went and bought one.

I never remember seeing anywhere what the actual volume was either and of course I don't remember what it came out to be now.
