Well unless I'm an idiot, I never found a subject on this so I'm gonna tell you :p

Ok... so you tap in to your parking lamp/dash display lights so you can have your foggies on with your parking lamps... and auto lamps...
Well, I just found out somthing that was actually pretty obvious. I was turning the dimmer down and suddenly my foglights turn off!! I'm like WHAT?! SO I turn the dimmer back up and they come on. Well I guess there isn't enough voltage/amperage in the lower settings to keep the lights on... has anybody else tried this?

.... ahh wait... i wonder if this has anyting to do with it... i've got aftermarkt lights with relays... u think that's it? It's possible I guess (look at this i'm talking with myself... and telling everyone) Well whatever, It does it in my car....

Stock fogs use a relay too.

Relays need a certain voltage to switch, once you get below the specific voltage, the relay turns off. Since the interior lamp dimmer changes voltage, the fogs turn off eventually.

If you tap into the parking light circuit this will not happen.

I followed SHOtimes instructions for my 'fog lamp mod' and I can play with my dimmer all I want and my fog lights don't react at all. I never would have thought that the dimmer would have anything to do with the fog lights. I was under the impression that all the dimmer controlled with the interior lamps.

But remember there is an 'interior lamp' IN the stock fog switch. So the dimmer does affect a certain wire. Wire it wrong and you get some funky results.. :D

I did what ShoZ123 said and am funk-less. thumb
