I finally decided i couldnt take another second of driving the SHO with the NOTCHIEST transmission ever.It was to the point where i was considering selling it.So i went and got some Mobil 1 and Hurst hot shift and added 2 quarts of the Mobil 1 and finished it off with the Hurst. When i went to move the car off of the ramps i notced immediately a difference.I drove around for a few hours last night because it was like i had a new car.A HUGE difference. Now the problem. On my way to work this morning in the high 30s outside i noticed that when i would push the clutch in to downshift or stop the engine was revving itself. Not revving alot but a few hundred RPMs but it did it over and over.So any idea what this is.Sorry this is so long just thought i would share how much better the MTX is now.

do you have a cone filter with airbox removed?i had it like that "not through fender like ones state you should " and every time the cone came loose or even fell off it caused my car to do the same as ya said.my set up is the same way but new filter and assured tightness and it hasent done that since.just a thought for ya sounds air related though!good luck!

****,i still have the stock airbox with a K&N panel filter.I will check to make sure nothing is in there blocking airflow. Its just weird that it did this a few hours after doing the tranny fluid although i am sure its not related.

i know a little not alot, but isnt there a crank case breather?im not sure but i thought ive heard of this wonder since your by the trans if theres something close to this in speaking??when the temp is colder outside anthing rubber or plastic will get stiffer thinking of intake tube and any small cracks will poss get bigger and air will leak easier .hope it stops on its own though right!!?? good luck.

i dont know the answer but your not alone. the first cold day here my car did the exact same thing instead of idoling at 8000rpm, it bounce between 1,000 and 1,500 pretty rapidly. i held the brake at a stop light and let the clutch out a little, almost like i was killing it on purpose, the rpms went all the way down to 500 rpm and then i pushed the clutch back in. fixed it instantly so i am clueless.

my car actually did this same thing when i replaced my clutch come to find out when i went under there agian i had forgot to connect a ground wire up so put that back on there and the problem stopped so maybe you have a bad ground? but then agian at the same time i connected the ground i also did valve cover gaskets intake gaskets and plug well seals plugs and wires so maybe it was one of those that fixed it. also my problem would happen usually when it was cold out or after it had sat over night maybe moisture is getting into plug wires?

clean your IB valve see if that works
i think thats going to be your problem too.
he means IAC idle air control or somthing like that.
its located right behind your TB attached to the intake manifold.
its a cylinder on one side and has a sensor clip on the other.
its held on by some allen head bolts, take it out and clean it.
use hot water and soap only! NOT harsh chemicals!!!!
