I just replaced the battery with a Diehard Silver series and the battery light still comes on periodically. What's going on? I have ss-UDPs, so does that have anything to do with it?

It shouldn't. I would get the alt. output checked. It is also possible to get a battery that doesn't perform as it should.
Make sure the connections are clean and tight.

I would check the output side of your alternator. I have a 90 that has had this wire fail a few times. The wire broke right behind the ring terminal and stud and the light would come on really dim while the wire was making little contact. I had to rewire it with a big butt connector and copper ring terminal. Seems like ford was cutting corners and trying to save $$$ by getting away with the shortest wire possible if you ask me..........
