So, I haven't had a problem up until recently using my auxiliary port but my tape deck likes to eat my tapes (and eventually spit them out).

So, does anyone have a list of all the errors that tape deck will issue and a description for each?

Also, has anyone ever cleaned their heads/took the deck apart and cleaned it to fix the problem? I know most people just buy a new football, but I think that's kind of excessive.

Thanks.

I wasn't sure anyone was still using tape decks? Any hoo I have a 97 football if you want to go that route. You pay the freight and it's yours. I am not sure about the tape working. I don't think there was ever a tape in there.

Hmm, well I might take you up on that offer :), PM sent.

P.S. I don't actually use a tape, I just need a tape in there so the EATC uses the tape signal to send to the amp instead of the other signals (FM, AM radio, CD)

I think I will just take it apart and take some pictures and show everyone how to clean it and if there are problems with the heads/tray mechanism, then how to fix them. It looks fairly easy as there is just a top plate that comes off and opens up access to the tape deck.
