One of Spring Hill's finest just informed me my tag lights are out, for how long I don't know. So I was wondering is the only wire and connector for the tag lights the one that goes down the driver's side hinge? The car originally had a trunk with a spoiler (I think, since the trunk rockets up when remotely opened) but now it's without a spoiler and for the life of me I can't figure out where that connector goes, unless there's another I don't know about. I gotta get this done so I don't get pulled over again. I'd rather not buy a lighted plate surround. Thanks :thankyou:

Have you checked to see if both the bulbs are merely burnt out? They do go through quite a bit of shock stress every time the trunk is closed.

As far as the trunk goes, if you look up behind the trunk where the hinges are, you'll see three teeth with a rod on one of them on both sides. That's the tension adjuster. If you move the rods down a tooth or two, there will be less opening force on the trunk. Watch your fingers, though, if those rods slip they might just crush something.

Nah, I haven't checked, since the harness that I assume goes to both is unplugged I figured that was it. But I might as well check, they could be burnt out anyways. And thanks, if it saves my tag lights in the future I'll give the rods a shot.

Bulbs are fine, as I thought the connector goes nowhere. i do see three wires sticking out of the harness that are snipped, I assume that's where this goes. Anyone know how to wire that up? If I can just splice it in that'd work.

Alright, got the colors and locations of the wires.

Car Harness
Brown
Brown w/ White Stripe
Red w/ Green Stripe
Red w/ Green Stripe
Black

Trunk Harness (split into three because they go to the connector that way)
Black

Brown
Brown w/ Light Blue Stripe
-
Black w/ Pink Stripe

I'm going to try and hook them up using a multimeter but I figured if I get stumped hopefully someone will be able to tell me how to hook them up.

Okay. On the car the brown seems to be ground, the two red wires and the single black wire are hot when the key is turned on. The brown with the white stripe comes from the trunk light. Right now I have it hooked up like this.

Brown Car - Black Trunk
Brown/White Car - Black/Pink Trunk
Red/Green Car - Both Browns Trunk
Black Car - Nothing

I think that's how it is. Should the black on the car go together with the brown/white on the car and then to the black/pink on the trunk? Sorry if I don't make much sense, dyslexia's kicking in after thinking for a while.

Alright, I got it finished. Works to my satisfaction and my electrical engineer friend agrees. Also, red wires with a green stripe at for the taillights as I know now that I've got another pair of eyes. The tag lights were only on when the brake lights weren't, makes for a strange light show :nut: Thanks again! :thankyou:
