dont you have a tach in the cluster?

there are several ways that you can hook one up... there is a tach service connector on the passenger side of the engine bay... in my 95 manual it says it is a T/Y wire with a black connector that is open on the end (tan/Yellow wire im guessing)

there is also another and that is the gray/orange wire that goes into the ICM...

those both should give you the tach reading... they are on the same circuit, just different wires, and one might be easier to find than the other... again these are also 95' wiring diagrams i looked at... so dont be surprised if you dont find the right color... although they should be the same in this case.

Passengers side, against the firewall by the EEC connector there is a dead end plug that has a black round cap over it. Pull the cap off and tap into the single pin inside of the connector.

Works great I hooked up a really nice digital tach/Shift light on syP's old 95 MTX.
