I am having a little trouble with my 94 mtx. It runs fine most of the time but ever now and again it will act up with the tach dropping to 0 and the car will run rill rough like its missing. What mite cause that? it does not do it all the time. the motor is only a year old.

Sounds like you need a new Camshaft Position Sensor. Unplug the sensor and see if it runs better. Its mounted on the back camshaft on the passenger side. Did you change the cam seals when the motor was redone?

If you did not use the original Ford or the National cam seals, you may have leaks sooner than later, at least per the consensus on this forum. Part number 1213N, make sure it's National brand and not FelPro etc. HTH.

This same general symptom can be caused by a flaky DIS module.

Pull fault codes and see if any related codes are stored.
