After many searches I've decided to post all the links/information that I've found necessary to complete a T5 conversion using the adapter plate from Canfield. I am not saying this information is correct or is a complete list, but this is what I've found.

I hope someone who has done a T5 conversion will chime in and validate or correct anything below.

1. http://www.cididit.com/adaptor_plate30.htm

This is the adapter plate, it's for the 3.0 Vulcan and needs a small piece removed to be a bolt on application.

2. http://specclutch.com/conversion_combos/view/27

This should take care of the clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, and the hardware. (You could also use a clutch from a Z34 Lumina Z34.)

For those that have performed this conversion, please comment below if anything else is needed.

Thanks for sharing.
I'm doing the same to a 1988 RX7 convertible.

The other thing that must be considered is the clutch release mechanism. The T5 has a mechanical actuation, so you may need to either adapt your clutch pedal to mechanical or adapt the transmission to hydraulic. btw, if you use the SuperCoupe M5ODR2, that has a hydraulic clutch actuation. The SuperCoupe trans actually has a higher torque capacity than the T5, but does not shift as well, and is much more rare. If you go for one of those, make sure the syncros are good as they are very hard to find...

Only that the front cross member of the subframe need modified to clear the oil pan.
The R&P is ok but the hard line coming out the back need to be moved to the front.
I'm not done yet by any means.

thanks...needed this information for my fairlane swap. So with that clutch you use the stock SHO flywheel? I have an aod bolted to the ididit adapter but need to have the aod flywheel redrilled an a spacer for the crank made. The space will allow the toque convert and starter be placed correctly. By the time I pay for all that, I might as well just buy a t-5 and this clutch. Plus it would be much more fun.

no, you use a custom Mustang flywheel that has the correct bolt pattern drilled for the SHO crank.

Why would you need a clutch conversion? Wouldn't you just have to use a T5 clutch?

maybe because of the width of the spacer wouldn't allow the t5 clutch to sit correctly. also the starter would not line up either. So instead of using a $500 clutch, why not just get that spacer machined to the sho crank bolt pattern, that is the same width as the adapter with a spot in the middle for the input shaft. This would put everything in that same position as a stock set up. This would allow you to run any transmission that has ever been bolted to a 5.0 block
