So... my single t3 was to small to make any boost what so ever (as i expected) sooo i have a 16g mitsu turbo laying around, i am gonna ditch the twin turbo project for now as theres only a couple weeks left of good weather to mess around with the car and i NEED to get it on the road asap.

Ok the t3 was rated for 250hp worth of air (boooo hisssssss) the turbo spun up like a jet pretty fast, but didnt even make it to 0 vacume drove just like it was n/a...

so my fix for the problem is a 16g turbo i have laying around (and i know its good/makes Plenty of boost.. last boosted 18psi) the 16g is good for 350+hp of air and can be upgraded to 500hp of air flow=).. much better than the t3 and should spool up just as fast if not faster AND it has a built in oil restrictor (one less part i have to buy) the waste gate is set at 8psi is this to much for stock injectors? if so can i cut open the waste gate carefuly and cut a coil off the spring and weld it back together to lower boost?

ok with one problem "fixed" i come to another problem... How do you turbo guys fit your turbos under the hood?? the 16g bairly fits with the abs in the way and crruse removed. so do i...

1. remove the abs? and if so how is this done what parts are needed to convert it to non abs?

2. just heat shield everything near by? and if so whats the best way to do so?

and one more question... how do you rout your exhaust plumbing 2 into one.... do you run the back bank Up the firewall over teh tranny? or under the engine up the front some how? now i know the mitsu turbo sits diffrently than a t3 or t4 turbo as the exhaust inlet is ontop so is the oil feed... so i would need to run the exhaust crap right above the turbo and still have it fit under the hood (very lil room with the abs still there.... and the rad might be in the way too) any pictures of your setup would be nice just to give me an idea so i can get-er-done.

thanks in advance for any help as it is much appreciated

-Bob

p.s. i am gonna run it with both banks running the turbo instead of just 1 as i want the power to come on much earlyer (3200rpm on my 2.0L talon made 18psi so 8psi on the 3.0L should come on 2500rpm so i hope... anything to get power before 4 grand)

I think that your T3 turbo is probably to BIG to run off of the one side. Maybe before you change turbos try to hook it up to both sides.

welll i dunno man... the turbos ment for min 1.5L to 2.5L MAX and i heard the turbo spool it was screaming but made no boost... it spooled pretty fast, yet didnt even make it to 0 vac. not only that but the turbo is shot... i know i need the oil restrictor.. but its to late the turbo seals are gone... (probably one reason it didnt boost) the turbo was pumping oil into the cold side... the bov spit out oil :p so the turbos junk....

my guess is if it is able to boost the 3.0 it probably isnt boosting since the seals are bad (ie first time i ran it i put my hand over the inlet of teh turbo and the car didnt stall and it didnt suck my hand in..there for cold side doesnt have a good seal and cant even hold vacume yet alone boost.) so me being a poor man with no job (till i get this rackin frackin car on the road again) i am just going with what i have and that is a nice 16g turbo that i know for fact works since it was on my talon.. it spools up good full boost by 3200rpm 18psi good for 22psi on the 2.0. and this way i will have a innercooler since i might as well grab the rest of the parts off the talon that i can use.

When we first tried our T3 turbo setup, we hooked it up on only one side. It didn't work for us either...at all. You have to do it off of both sides.

The firing order on the SHO is as follows : 1-4-2-5-3-6 or:

1-2-3
4-5-6

you only have one power stroke, and the other cylinders on the same bank are dead.
So you aren't getting the exhaust pressure that a T3 needs to boost up.

My guess would be that you have other problems that are keeping you from getting boost. Checking for leaks would be a good place to start.

No leaks what so ever.... now the cold side seal leaks so thats probably the problem.

thats the same for all V6's only 1 cylinder pushes out exhaust at a time so its only one pulse at a time.... it would be nice to have 2 fire at the same time tho :D :p a 5.0L v8 does the same thing.... 1 fires on one bank then the other fires on the other bank then one fires on the first bank so on and so forth... hope that made sence.

You should be fine with a 16g. I personally would not use it, but I am for all out h.p. right now. I have a brand new turbonetics T66 sitting around if I was going to turbo anyhow :) Also, remove the abs and almost anything will sit where the abs computer was...then use the DEI exaust wrapping to help control the underhood temperature. I have a couple pics, pm me with your email addy if you want them

we have no problems like you have with your turbo set up. you can not run a single turbo off one side of the engine, it will never work. there is not enough exhaust pressure going to the turbo. you must run another pipe from the other cylinder head. we installed our turbo in may and we tried one side, it didnt do anything. I bent up another pipe to join the two sides together, and the turbo worked. we've been driving the car every day with out a single problem.

your oil problem is your drain in the valve cover thats a vent with a baffle that runs the whole length of the valve cover there is no possible way the oil will drain fast enough through that little vent hole

oh it was drianing quite fast... no problem there... the turbos junk sold it to a turbo dodge friend of mine for $2 lol... switched to a 16g turbo (rated at 100 more hp than the tiny t3) and i made a y-pipe this time around so all should be good... and i know this turbo is good... it worked grate till 16psi on my talon then i parked it... so very soon she will be on teh road boostin 8psi with a 12:1 fmu and a extra injector or 2 (19lbs each), and later on a 255 walb pump.
