It would be a safe assumption to characterize me as being TOTALLY HAPPY with my new SHO.

On another note, one which relates to some of the obvious frustration experienced by "lotusdriver", while I was visiting my local Ford dealer last night and right after I wiped the drool off my chin after staring at a recently arrived GT350 Shelby I picked up a handout produced in conjunction with Ford and Best Buy and in it there is a table that listed the popular brand and models of cell phones from various service providers (Sprint/AT&T/Verizon/T mobile/Boost/ETC...) and to what level they are compatible with the MS Sync systems in the new Fords, and even how some brands are not compatible at all. Generally Blackberry does not play well with MS Sync based on the data in the handout, but for you Ford MS Sync owners out there who might be considering upgrading there phone and would like continued or improved functionality with their Sync systems this can be a very handy brochure. I don't no for sure but I would imagine that this brochure is also available at Best Buy as well.

The phone works perfectly with the Sync system, the problem is the Sync system has the glitches. If you watch the video, I was pushing the button for the voice command prompt. This then should ask me to "Say a Command". It has nothing to do with the pohone at that point. Suppose my "Command" was to change to Sirius Channel 132, or to set a destinatiion??? Because the Sync system failed... it would not allow me to give a command. This has NOTHING to do with the Blackberry. I have yet to have a problem connecting to the phone or using the phone through the system. The problem comes from giving Sync the command to do what I need.

I am not suggesting a solution to your problem but was intending to inform others that not all phones play well with sync as in the case with most blackberry phones. Partial compatability can also be phrased as partial incompatibilty which can have unexplained (even by the geekiest of tech geeks) outcomes or results between the two systems. I do hope your miserable problems in your new SHO get rectified I would be very angry myself if I had similar experiences.

Man, I just started following all your threads. Are all the other 2010 owners having these same problems? I know it's a new car, 1st year, bugs have to get worked out, etc.; but man...what a piece of crap this thing sounds like.

Maybe you just got a lemon but if we start seeing other posts with all the problems you've been having, we'll be able to positively conclude if the new SHO is as much of a piece of crap as the 20 year old ones. I like the new ones---but not if they turn out to all be like yours.

These are interesting posts to read though.

No problems with my SHO. I would hope my dealer would be helping
me out of my SHO if it has been in for service this many times.

I had this problem yesterday. It wouldn't play the USB. Wouldn't do anything. I shut the car off and turned it back on and it worked. It worked today.

I was having this problem earlier as well. I'd pair my EVO to Sync, all would be fine - then the EVO would disconnect and the voice button would cease working until the system was rebooted (i.e. car was turned off and back on). I haven't had that problem lately, though.

Are you running the latest updates from syncmyride (Gen1 - V3.1)?

If you are not running 3.1 you need to have the dealer update it. You can only update the consumer half of the module on syncmyride.com. The dealer can update both sides. Pm me tor vin and I will tell you your version.

I'm not sure, how do I find out?

You can establish an account at

http://www.syncmyride.com/Own/Modules/SupportContent/SupportHomeWithIOP.aspx

Then you download the update to a USB key and take it to the car. Afterward you take the USB key back to the computer and upload a completion confirmation to syncmyride.

Also, you can go to the information menu ("i" button) and select "system information". There, your current system version should be displayed.

The dealer updates are apparently a different story.

I found out on syncmy ride that there is an update. I just need to go pick up a USB key. Thanks for the help.

I have the same issue with a droid 2 now and then, I'll end a call and go back to USB/MP3 player and it will be frozen. Radio and Sirius works, just wont play Mp3s. Press voice and it says "phone".

Turn car off and on, and its back to normal.

My Sync phone book download also no longer works with my Blackberry 9700. Frustrating making manual calls. I'll try downloading new software, but what changed?
