New to the forum but not new to forums in general.. I recently bought a 2010 SHO PP with 120k and am trying to solve a few issues that need to be addressed. When I bought the car in November, the very night I got it home, sync stopped working. I had it connected while I test drove it without problems but after it stopped working it does not respond in any way, shape, or form when I press buttons etc. Radio and everything else work fine. This is just the standard, plain jane Sync. No navigation. What is the best course of action? Is this something I can manage by buying a used APIM and dropping the module off at the dealer for programming? Can it be tested/reset somehow? Is this something that I should just bite the bullet and drop $800 on taking it in? Will Batman and Robin escape the clutches of an evil madman?

Tools/Skills? Some.. let's say, semi-advanced DIY'er..

Also, where is the APIM located? I've seen what I think shows it behind the radio and I've seen something saying it's in the console.

Unfortunately I did that the first night I had it.. didn't solve it. I might get in there and pull the fuse today while we have decent weather and make sure it didn't somehow manage to blow but I'd be surprised if that was it since I don't have any other electrical problems and according to the owners manual there are a few things on that circuit.

If sync is booting but not responding I would question the touch screen.
If sync is actually locking up I would download the latest update and try starting with the update in the usb port.
If sync is not even booting I would question the apim.
