Swapping out 92 steering wheel for 93-95-Please Help

I am concidering buying a red 92 MTX, I was looking for 93-95 but this one is clean and the price is right. I just really hate the steering wheel. Is it possible to swap it out for a 93-95 steering wheel, and how hard is it to do. I really think I want it despite it being a 92 I just need to know about the steering wheel (yes, I know I'm insane deciding on a car over the steering wheel) Thank you VERY much in advance!

I don't think I would try this with steering wheels with airbags. I have heard they can cause serious injury. shrug

Well I myself have this done in my 91, but haven't had the airbags reset yet because the car is not finished. I know of at least one other member who doesn't post often who has his in and operable with the bag installed. Basically you need a good bag and wheel off a gen 2 and you splice the connector off the gen 1 into the airbag on the gen 2... I figure when the car is ready to go I'll just pay ford or someone else with airbag testers to physically install the airbag since my uncle had one done for ~$75 @ the dealer a few months ago. **** this is worth my life I think and the gen 1 wheel is one of my biggest pet peeves in the 89-91 body style. Maybe that's why I have a full leather gen 2 interior, a gen2 center console, and a gen 2 bag and steering wheel in my 91 thumb Oh and let's not forget that leaky gen 2 motor wink Hehehe good luck and email me if you have specific ?'s.

Wow i've posted this questions like 3 times recently!!!

ACV1081 - i'm planning to put in a GEN II console myself. How well did it go in? Do you have pics? Also with the airbag is it still a generation 1 airbag or is a second generation (meaning multiple stage) airbag swappable?
