Anyone ever try taking a supercharger out of a Thunderbird or Couger and putting it in a SHO. Can you use the MAF out of those cars also. Theres one of each at a junkyard around here. Seems like I could get alot of parts for a little cost. Anyone know the boost those SC put out?

T-Bird supercharger

I own a 91sc and it puts out 10-12 psi. Its pretty much stock. Hope that helps. I beleive the 94-97 has a better designed charger. Itd be alot of fab work but always possible. Good luck. :thumb:

10-12 wow I wasn't expecting that much I'm impressed. I think I'm gonna go take a much closer look at it now. I looked at the cougar and the sc is mounted at the bottom with a long intake tube. So it was hard to determine what the sc actually looked like.

Make my own intake? If things go as they are in my head I plan on shaft driving the sc, I know there will be brackets to make. I'm assuming thats why you thought I would need a new intake, but yes I do want to mount it next to the stock SHO air intake location. Correct me if I'm wrong. This is just in the gathering info stage so all is welcome.

you can't use those MAFs. Look on SHOtimes there's an atrticle on there.

Anything is possible with enough money, but adapting a SC from a t-bird would be real tough... not worth it

I has been done and was mounted on top it required a whole new intake.

Also a guy on here with a Dune Buggy did it with it mounted on the side. It didnt require new intake. Some one else is doing the same to their SHO now.

I knew there would be others out there. Lets get some pictures of the work posted, or work in progress. What do you think the j-yard would charge for something like this, I'm gonna have to call and ask.

But GTPs were :naughty:

Im using a M90 off of a 1998 Pontiac GTP.

Much, MUCh more efficient than the early SC t-bird M90s. Plus, it has a built in bypass valve.

Im fabbing it up to fit where the stock AC compressor is (WAS) located.

Innercooled 10PSI right off idle should be fun :corn:
