It appears to be random, while driving, and it doesn't seem normal wink

I have a suspension thunk of some kind. Would having a bad subframe bushing (the bottom part with the washer gets "squished" when it is torqued down) cause a thunk when the car "shakes" a lot during fast shifts, sometimes over bumps, etc.?

I know this bushing needs to be replaced, but for the price I may as well install Al SFBs. Gotta get Joy's parents to approve the purchase first.

Definately replace your SFBs. Don't forget the recall kit. If $ is tight, then get the stock ones. Your car is almost 10 years old, after all. If the stock bushings sucked, they wouldn't have held up for that long of a time period.

You thunk is probably the bad SFB, but since you know you have a bad one you're not going to really know until at least that SFB (if not all of them) are replaced.
