Iam having the hardest time removing the surge tank. I believe i have all the bolt out that hold it down but the tank will not move. Does the Throttle body have to come off for removal? Is there a trick to this?

No the throttle body does not have to come off.Loosen the hose clamps that go to the throttle body.Take off your egr DO NOT lose the gasket.Did you get the support brackets underneath?Even after you loosen everything up they are still on there pretty good. You will have to pry on the surge tank or just push on the back,it will pop loose. The first time took me about 45 min.I can do it now in about 20 min.Its really not hard, just take your time and if you used all the bolts you did something wrong.J/K

Did you knock over the two brackets in the back when you removed the two 12mm bolts? A 2 foot piece of pipe, broom stick, prybar, etc. can be used for this, just stand by the pass. side strut tower, and slide the implement in, and then use it to bang both brackets over about 2" each. It's easier than trying to un-do the lower bolts on the brackets.

If the rubber couplers on the runners are sticky, you can use a prybar or long screwdriver between the top of the rear valve cover and the surge tank (right below where the FPR vacuum hose connects to the surge tank. Pull up about an inch and it should break free. If you're still getting resistance, then you missed something.
