I have a bone stock 89 and was considering putting either a turbo or supercharger on my car. I'm looking for something with the most bang for my buck while not breaking the bank. I've looked at a few superchargers, but am not sure which one will fit my car. If someone knows anything or can just offer any advice, that'd be great.

What do you consider breaking the bank? It's not going to be cheap if you want to do it right.

Even if you want to do it on the cheap, and cut all the corners, it will be expensive. And most likely break fairly quickly if done on the cheap.

Hey there.. I did mine on the cheap, but didn't cut any corners. I did most of the fab work and got the supercharger used. I still spent $2500 for everything to make it work (Tweecer, FPR, Injectors, S/C, 255lph fuel pump, MAF, and probably a few other things I can't remember) That does't include all the supporting modifications I have..

I did it with a visa card .... yeah, i know .....

anyway, I got a kit from the SHO Shop when it was still around ...... and got a good mechanic to do the install ......

Results? ..... its a stock 89 .... I spent a bunch of money, but I'm happy

Its my daily driver as well as my autocross car .... it runs great a year later ...... the LPM that came with it is not perfect ...... the peak power is at 6,200 ..... after that it goes rich .... but, it is a safe setup

you will need a quaife diff though ..... more $$$

thanks everyone for the input. sounds like too much $$$ for me at the moment. don't have credit cards (because I'm too young) for the expensive stuff nor the cash to do a complete tranny/engine overhaul along with it
