more rubber, more HP.....
I am finally installing the Vortech supercharger with the SHO Shop kit next week. It will be going into the black '89 accompanied by a 3.2L.

Question: where do the oil lines connect on the oil pan? I know you have to drill/tap one connection, anyone know the thread size/pitch? (I did a search, couldn't find the info.)

Can someone post a picture of their oil pan showing where the oil lines connect?

Thanks.

Fred,

I will see if I can get a picture of the return line that goes to the oil pan, but it is pretty tight in there. The connections we used were AN8 bulkhead fittings IIRC, so you do not actually tap the pan as much as you drill the pan and used washers and nuts on the bulkhead fitting. Our return lines go to the oil pan below the harmonic balancer above the normal oil level. The hose routing is tight, to clear all the belts, but it does work.

As for the pressure line, we connected at the factory oil pressure gauge with a tee and ran the oil line, stock idiot light, and an electronic sender for Autometer gauges.

Shoot me an email or call if I can help any.

Good to hear there will be another blown SHO in Washington.

half-way there, I think.
Supply line at the back of the block. Note I did a remote block for the oil pressure gauge and idiot light sending units to help reduce chances of leaking.

Can't seem to find a good picture of the drain back line on any SHO. It is just forward and down of the crank pulley, about the 5 o'clock position.
You can kind of see it in this picture of Pat's car just above the front cat. I'll see if I can find a better picture.

Here's how SHO Shop does their oil return into the pan. Terry, Pat, and I all have them done this way.
