I think a commen paper buisness card works great for a CPS gap tool . I've never had a problem with the gap , space with the card ... turn the sprocket a few times to make sure it's not touching and wham bam thank you mam , cps good to go .

Well I guess it's back to the shop and give it another go......

Thanks for all the input gentlemen. I'll let you know how round 2 goes.

Code for coolant temp sensor also causes it to run richer, as the ECU thinks it is cold all the time... about $20 for a new one and 2 minutes to swap out.... this added to the notorious pig rich SS tune.

Thanks. That never occurred to me. I completely dismissed the connection to a richer charge. You guys are great.

For what its worth Alex, I would suspect a sensor. The car always started and ran smooth as silk. It should run at least as good as it did before you started changing things. The tune hasn't changed.

The only time I had any issues with a bad idle was whenI washed the motor and got water in one of the plug wells. Hang in there. You'll figure it out.

Howdy Bob,

Your right, codes where for O2's (which you told me about) and the CKP=CrankPositionSensor which I still find hard to believe it failed because of your log book. It doest have that many miles on it. NOTHING on the car has very many miles on it and all the work you had done to it was top notch and maintained to a Very high standard. You sold me a solid car for a great price and I am still thankful to you. There are NO "previous owner issues" with this car. I'm pleased as punch with it.
Present frustration (most likely due to my own wrenching) will pass and the romance will blossom once again.

The tune is safe, as can be seen by your Dyno sheets wide-band log.
Perhaps the fuel I smelled out the tail pipes could have been exasperated by the failing O2's.

Perhaps I'm an fool and should leave things as they are when it is back up and running.
