After driving SHO, noticed pants were wet. I wasn't driving fast enough to scare myself, so investigated the seat. Sure enough, it had been wet & maybe the window was left cracked open the day before. Then found visor & headliner above driver's seat had been wet & moisture inside the vanity mirror. L
ooked for debris around or in the sunroof tracks with it open & closed - Didn't locate anything.
Searched for water drain info on the web, but the explanation was too advance since I couldn't even tell you where the drain or run-off hose is located.
I want/need to learn so c
ould anyone offer their knowledge, or suggest any web sites that would help me in my quest??

Thanks in Advance!!!

My 2013 had water in the passenger side floor, the forward drains run down the A pillar. Found a kink in mine on that side. Still have no idea how the floor board was soaked but not the headliner...

The rear drain hoses run back through the C pillars. Have now verified on my car but this is pretty much universal on all cars.

Thanks for the reply.
So what did you do to locate the kink?? Then how did you fix it??

The car did experience a leak around the lights by the sunroof buttons. Headliner was wet up to the windshield so replaced the windshield, cleaned the tracks, it leaked 1 more time & never again.

Thanks again!!

I took the plastic off of the A pillar, found the drain hose and followed it down half way to the footwell. Kind of right below the dash, found the hose twisted. I pulled part of the headliner down to disconnect from the sunroof drain attachment, this allowed me to twist the hose to un-kink. No issue since.

I did have a teacher at my son’s daycare that had a similar issue of water in the headliner. After tearing into it we found that the hose came off of the sunroof drain completely so water was pouring into the headliner. This was a 09 Jeep Patriot. Either way, anything is possible.
