Well its winter, and I need a project. My 90 SHO 5spd has been resting peacefuly for the last 8 months, I think its time for a REVIVEL ! First problem is the shifter, Forward to backward movement is fine, Side to side movement takes two hands and strong forarms. Making the car almost undrivable. :frown:

Sounds like a bad shift cable. Time for a rod shifter upgrade!!!

Is that an aftermarket item ? Or do I need to got the salvage yard ?

yes...but I'm not sure if a cable shift y-pipe clears it.

The y-pipe is not effected.

The resonator pipe is. On my '89 that has a factory installed rod shifter, all they did was bash a flat spot into the resonator pipe to ake it clear :doh:

Which probably requires removal of resonator pipe ? :frown:

After doing a forum search on this subject, which I should have done in the first place(sorry fellas). I got all the info I needed, and then some.

And boy do I sure miss my 70 Chevelle. :biggrin: :omg:
