How are you planning on powering it? 8 ohms is a little ridiculous for auto applications.

If you replace the stock sub, replace the amp too. If you can find a 6.5 inch sub it will fit almost perfect, 8 inch requires a slight modification to the box. 10 inch will fit but the box does not provide enough air volume for the speaker since it is a sealed box. 6.5 is optimum and 8 inch is a great change too, do some reaserach and if you can get a new amplifier too. It shouldn't be too hard to wire up.

4 ohms is good. you might also want to consider going DVC (dual voice coil). If you do plan on using the stock box though, make sure you get a sub with parameters that match the volume of the stock box. The size of a sub is not an indicator of how much volume it needs. Make sure you look up the specs. More often than not, the spec sheet will contain ideal volume for different enclosure types. If you don't match this with the box, you are setting yourself up for defeat.
