i had to do some modifactions to my subframe and i wanted to know if this would hold.
well im guessing my car been in a wreck before from all i can see and the atx subframe that was on it has been bent at the front passenger side so the bolt went in angeled.
well anyways since im on the atx to mtx swap i went to put in my mtx subframe and it didnt wanna line up on the last bolt and its got solid subframe bushing so that made it harder.
well anyways i cut some of the unibody out so the bolt could go up threw straight for the subframe to connect on all 4 corners and i used a big square washer and a nut that would fit it properly.
i had to cut down about 1 1/2 inch to get the holes to line up.
my question is will this cause me problems later on or should it be strong enough ?

i had to make the pictures since the car is together.
in the first one is how the factory setup is and the second is the new work i had to do for it to fit.
the second picture the upper hole in the left side is what i had to cut up 1 and 1/2 inch for the bolt to fit up and the nut plate goes to both sides of the inside of the unibody and a nut with a washer ontop of that.
in the pictures i ment unibody not subframe... bare with me ive been busting my ass all day finishing up my car and swapping heads and all..

unibody hole.

The last time I took out my subframe the tabs for the front nuts broke and the nut started to spin. There seemed to be no way to get a tool in there to hold the nut so I cut a 1 inch by 3 inch hole in the unibody to access the nut with a "channel lock"....if this is what you are talking about it should hold fine....I did this 4 years ago. There is a procedure for lining the subframe up properly. Search the SHO sites. If your unibody is bent(from an accident) the subframe may not line up properly and your tire clearances may be altered. Be mindful of the smell of burning rubber and grooves in your tires from wearing against the unibody in turns.
