I got my SFC's from prosuspension, and I had them welded in last night, but we ran 2 issues.
First is that exhaust bracket, which I have read that ppl have had to come up with some ways around. What have ppl done to get around this? I've heard a few ideas but wanted to see if there are any others out there.
Secondly while welding the sfc's on I noticed that on the driver side the portion of the body where the SFC should connect to is higher than I would think it should be. Almost like the body of the car is slightly twisted, but the car rides perfect, dosen't pull, and has never been in any kind of wreck, or it was repaired so well that I can't find any telltale signs. I would think that it would take alot to twist just the one side of the body like that. I've gone over the car with a "fine tooth comb" and all the body panels line up just about right (as good or better than my 95 SE) and nothing looks outta whack.
Has anyone out there ever seen something like this? And if so, can the unibody be fixed/straightened to make the mounting surface flat? I know body shops have machines to straighten things, but one side being maybe 1/2 to 3/4 in higher than the other, it is worth bothering with? Or should I just take the SFC off, have someone bend it a little to match the body twist and weld it back in?
I'll have a few pictures up soo if anyone wants to take a look and give me some ideas.
