Is it this easy?

1. Raise car.
2. put jack stands under subframe.
3. remove one bushing and replace. Complete one side.
4. Repeat for other side?
5. Done.

Helms just shows the whole subframe removal...

Living in the rust belt i can say that no this wasn't easy. It took me around 8 hours as i had many a snapped and seized bolts. I recommend getting a subframe recall kit from ford so you have all new mounting hardware to go with your new bushings.

PB blaster is your friend if you live anywhere near rust. When I did my bushings only 1 bolt spun and it was the front pass. side bolt but the recall kit worked wonders.

took me about 2 hours, but I was taking my time and had to do some modification to the subframe. A little grinding nothing major. Its easy. Just take your time and think smart.

Ford and easy? HAHAHAHA. No. Fords rust... A LOT... in the suspension and chassis department. Some cars are "easy" but most will be a be-atch if it is your first time and you don't have a lift or PB Blastr.

3.8L wagon: you have to lift up and push back on the sway bar linkage. Having both wheels even helps too so there is not extra stress on one side.

In this case you might be using a socket/rachet and not knowing that the whole thing is spinning around. Try a 18mm wrench on the nut and an 8mm socket on the stud head. I would recommend using air tools on this and anything else...great for the DIY type and saves time.
