im not sure if this is the right section or what but here goes..

ok my subframe for my atx i took that off because im swapping my 3.2 atx to a mtx and need to change subframes and all..

well the thing is i got the subframe off except for one bolt. the subframe isnt connected to the car but the one bolt and rubber bushing is still on the back part near the passenger side door.
since im having a **** of a time on it and i have done everything but talk nice to it and tell it why exactly i hate fords. i was wondering if i could just weld the back part on the car and cut the freakin bolt off.
of course welding isnt going so great for me either, arg. i tried to weld a socket to the crank bolt on my 3.0 engine for the pulley so i can use that on my 3.2 and that dont work so im gonna start a risky part and drill the crank bolt since nothing seems to be going right since i got my 3.2 atx pulled out of my car.
more or less im here to bitch about the problems im having.
i still cant understand why the subframe bolts to the cars unibody like that. since i got all the other 3 bolts off i went over and checked under the drivers side and found that all it is, is a nut welded to the car from inside the unibody. and i found out the nut broke loose on the passenger side of the car and just free spins.

i guess im just hoping for an easy way around like welding the freakin subframe to the body.

Theres a recall for the rear bolts , check with ford dealers if yours is in it. It consists in replacing the rear bolts and the nut inside the floor.

If its not, just pay 15$ for it , cut the damn thing off. Replace bolt.

OR weld it to the body with a good piece of metal. I did it once on a previous SHO , I couldnt notice any unusual vibrations... Unlikely to do , but its doable...

It's kinda hard to follow your description, but it sounds like the plate nut on the rear passenger side is wasted. I agree, pick up the recall kit which will have in it new plate nuts, bolts and washers.

In order to perform the recall someone is going to have to cut access holes in the floorboard anyway, so you might as well get at it now. This will give you a better shot at fixing it right. Directions on how to do this repair can be found toward the end this document:

Also, do a search using the keyword "98S36" to read more about the recall.

well I'll say this.. when i put my alum SFB's on the bolts I took off, rounded i used an impact socket on a breaker bar and a 5 foot peice of pipe.. i got them out later with a angle grinder :thumb: ended up they already had the recall done so the holes were cut inside and i could pull the body nut off from the inside and it came right out.. I live in northern indiana... maybe thats why i cant get the drums off my F-150.. :)
