The rear subframe bushing on my drive side has appeard to have fallen out. Sounds good when it comes to replaceing the subframe bushings other than the fact that the bolt has snaped off in the subframe. I have tried every thing i can think of to back this bolt out includign applying heat. but everytime i grab it with vice grips it just spins on the bolt. i have looked around and can not seem to find anyway to get behind the bolt where the nut (or j-nut i would asume is) does anyone have an sujeststions on how to get the bolt out or gain access to the j nut.

Thanks
Keith

Pull your carpet back in the footwells. If you have round rubber plugs about 3" in diameter, you may be in luck. This means that the subframe bolt recall was performed. If you remove the rubber plugs, you now have access to the nut. However, the nut has wings on it that fit into tabs. You'll have to lift the wing up over the tabs to try to spin the nut off. If the recall hasn't been performed, now is a good idea to get a hole saw and the recall kit. Or, you may be able to have the dealer perform it for you. Call the dealer and give their service people your VIN. They can pull up an OASIS report to see if there are any outstanding recalls on your vehicle. (ie, ones that haven't been performed, not "awesome or amazing" recalls  )

good luck. Let us know what the situation is. I may be able to advise better. I honestly don't remember if the stock bushings are two piece or not (I think they are)..I hope this made sense..I'm falling asleep..
