Where can I jack up my SHO with one jack and have the whole front or back off the ground at one time? I wouldn't want to put the jack on something that looked safe to lift off of, and hear the groaning, bending noise that was the sound of me spending hundreds of dollars to straighten something.

I really hate to jack cars up from the side, the flexing (especially on this one) makes me shudder just thinking about it...

wait...

<shudder>

see?

The front you can do by the subframe. For the rear, unless you have an h-brace it's really not a good idea. EDIT: Or you can do as Steve suggests for the rear, but FWIW, there's really no harm in jacking from the sides at the jack points.

With the subframe connectors on my '97 I can get three wheels off the ground by jacking it up from the middle of the SFC. You need a good jack though.....

JD,

There is no such thing as a stupid question. When you are not sure about how to do something, ask. These good folk will gladly provide you with the information you need to get things done in the safest and easiest way (and least expensive).

The dumb question is the one you do not ask! rangerj

Thanx rangerj,

I'll be asking a lot of them soon. In fact, there's a good one right below this post I really need some help on...

Thanx again!

I don't know if Ford will make another SHO, but I do know that it is rumored that the Taurus is going to be replaced in 05.

I am encouraged by the fact that all of the auto manufacurers are producing some sort of high performance automobile e.g. the 390 HP Mustang Cobra, the Pontiac GTO, etc.

I just hope they never go back to the slush-o-matic, 4 banger, gutless wonders, of the late 70's and the 80's! rangerj

They are making a new SHO - They just farmed the job out to Cadillac. The CTS-V has the 400hp Corvette engine, tranny and suspension to match.

So there it is - a funny looking full-size sedan with substantial giddy-up. All that's required is for Caddy to make enough of the CTS variety so that the CTS-V doesn't look like anything special.

AutoSHO I'm gonna hafta disagree with ya on that one right there. IMHO the CTS is one of the better designs on the market as of late and the V package just adds to it. It is an adventuresome design that doesn't follow the pack and if sales are an indication of its success or failure the CTS is doing something right :) The designers hit the nail on the head this time.

shrug Looks like an Asstek to me. I find the slab sided, hard edged sedan body to be very distasteful. Even more so in person than in pictures.
