so when I go to pickup my car after getting tokico/intrax, full alignment, camber adjustment kit,new front and rear endlinks, the car handled great but when i go to stop the pedal almost hits the floor before stopping!~but If you pump ther breaks once to the floor then apply pressure and the breakes will work great you just have to double pump them?and it wont start at cold,it will crank over and the rpms will go up like they should and then it just dies.if I hold it steady at 3grand and slowly let her ease down to around 1000 rpms it will hold steady and once you drive it around for a bit then the car runs fine. anyone want to chime in and help me figure out what in the world my mechanics did to my car that would be helpfull :thumb:

Brakes - they may have disconnected the brake hose from the caliper to remove the suspension, in which case you need to bleed the brakes (It's not necessary to do that, you can just remove the caliper from the knuckle and not crack the brake system open at all for what you had done).

They also may have removed the neg. ground from the battery, in which case you lost your idle speed program, and you'll need to reset the idle. Again, not necessary for them to have done so for what you had done, but many shops believe better to be safe (especially with may newer cars).

The idle should over time set itself. Make sure there are no vacuum leaks from a disconnected line or something.

I just remove the negative terminal from battery, let it sit for a couple minutes...then hook it back on. Start it up, let it idle for a couple minutes, then go for a little drive..

Yea, i dont like taking my car anywhere now..the last time it was in a shop just to have a broken heater hose replaced..the @sshats lost my tranny dipstick

Disconnect the neg until at least the clock resets to 12:00. You're also going to want to turn on the defrost on high, and on an ATX, I put it in D w/ foot on the brake to put a load on the engine, so it learns to idle under worst-case situations.

what is even worse or maybe even good is that they didn't test drive it LOL, they would have noticed the brakes were messed up.... or possibly they didn't test drive it before and just thought your brakes were that ******....

I test drive every car I work on before and after I work on it, even for the slighest thing I'll just take it on a minute or two cruise. This lets you know how the steering, brakes, engine, tranny, noises, lights, or anything else you can imagine was before you worked on it, and after you worked on it to see if you fixed the problem or something else started acting up that wasn't before.

that place doesn't seem like that good of a shop

As was stated, they should have test driven the car after working on the brakes. Find another shop.

Different car than I currently own, my friend was taking me back to get my car, we saw some of the mechanics in it at the local drive-in. :cuss:

There are really only two guys I trust with my car. One isn't a mechanic profesionally but he has a garage at his house that rivals many real ones. On top of that he's a perfectionist and does a thorough job. He's the one who put my brake kit on, susupension, Borla exhaust system and welded my sub-frames on. He took my subframes and filled in the ends so water wouldn't get into them and then repainted them, that's what kind of job he does. The other guy I trust is a mechanic that owns his own shop and he's another perfectionist. He went so far as to paint my LCAs after having to grind off the edges to fit my Baer rotors, not just one time but several because the first few times he didn't take enough metal off and the rotors would rub. He never got frustrated with it even though it took about an hour and several times of taking the front wheels and brakes off to make sure everything fit right. Who else does stuff like that?

it rides nice!handles very well for having a open diff>I have pushed it threw a few curves and there is very little body roll.for the $ I guess it was worth it?next I am going to get full length subframe connectors, since they are cheap and do alot handling wise for are cars :thumb:
