stumped on break job wheel stuck?

i have a 95 atx that i am trying to change my brake pads on. so i loosened the 5 lug nuts raised that side of the car up and the wheel seems to be stuck??? it appears that the bolt in the middle is holding the wheel on. i had a differant 95 sho that was not held on by the middle bolt. was my other SHO missing the bolt? anyone know the size of it? 1 1/16 seems a tad small. ideas anyone?

The hub nut is not holding the wheel on, it's probably just got some rust or corrosion between the hub and the wheel. Give it a good what on the edge of the rim with a rubber mallet, or put a board against the edge of the rim and whack it with a steel mallet (just be careful to not damage the rim). Eventually it'll pop off.

ended up slowly lowering the jack until the weight of the car popped it loose. thanks for the tip. now im stuck on the caliper bolts grrrrr......cars that sit suck. i have soaked them in half can of pb blaster and they still wont budge

You need a "cheater bar". I use a 3/4 in. hard copper pipe, about 18-24" long.
Or, anything that will slip over the end of a breaker bar.. Even 12" will make a LOT of difference!!:woohoo: P.S. If you can't get your rotors off, call me. I have a top secret

I use a long pipe or piece of conduit on a socket wrench/breaker bar (i.e., NOT a ratchet). Makes short work of things like caliper bracket fasteners.

Yeah, if it looks like it's going to be stubborn then judicious use of heat and/or penetrating oil doesn't hurt. I think penetrating oil (e.g., WD-40, PB-Blaster, whatever) is always a good idea, but that's just me.

ill give it a try next time the weather is nice but after looking at my socket it seemed that the dang one side cracked........i guess that had something to do with the ratchet slipping.

Yup, you need a breaker bar.. Sometimes people loc-tite the caliper bracket bolts. Took a 4 ft. cheater to get them off my crown vic., to find them coated w/ red loc-tite, no less.
