STUMPED on A/C

I think I have a blockage in my lines on the high pressure side. Where do I start. I've got a new accumulater line as well as a new condensor. But she's still not blowing cold. It holds pressure when it gets vaccumed out and with r134 in the system. Is there a way to blow out the lines with compressed air without disconnecting the lines. Also, are there any other filters that that I should change? I remember somthing about an oriface tube or filter, any one know where it is?

Have you put a set of HVAC gauges on it? The orifice is located between the condenser outlet and the evaporator inlet, and on the SHO it is in the line, IIRC. Orifice tubes have an integral filter. They are cheap enough that they are usually replaced rather than cleaned. If you suspect the system is contaminated, they make aerosol flushes you can use on the condenser, evaporator and lines. Get the gauges on there.

There is NOTHING whatsoever in your post that indicates your hypothesis is viable.

Without the gauges, you're probably just guessing

If the orifice is blocked, then you should be seeing higher than normal pressure at the high side port.

That is quite incorrect. A restricted orifice will NOT cause an elevated high side reading. in fact, it wall cause a low-to-normal reading on the high side along with a low-to-very low reading on the low side.

The orifice is in a hardline that goes from the condenser to the back of the firewall behind the motor. Look over the rear valve cover, and you'll see the connection, about halfway down the firewall.
It runs under the battery. There are 2 AC lines that run under the battery, and this is the top one.

The filter and orifice are built into the line. I believe they are right next to each other, in the middle of the line, where there is a crimp. If there is a problem, you usually just replace the whole line.
I am not sure about blowing out the line with air.

:thankyou:thanks for the replies guys. I think this project is beyond me and she's going to the shop. I hate spending the money to pay a mechanic when I can do it myself but this one is beyond me. Gotta know when to fold em!
