Heyy ppl, have any of you had problems unscrewing your side markers? (the orange ones that blink) I guess the bulbs are out or they just dont work, I wnt out to unscrew them and they wont budge. I can tell by the painted screw heads that they were never taken off before. Can the bulbs be accessed from behind the bumper?

You are using the wrong size screwdriver. You need to use a number two philips head. Put some pressure on it to keep it seated and it should budge. May take some force. Don't be afraid to but a lot of forward pressure to keep it seated. Other than that, spray some wd-40 front and back of the screw and let it soak a bit.

The bulbs can not be accessed from the back if your working on the front side markers, I replaced my amber side marker's with the GenIII's answer to "clear corners" and it was a bit of a pain in the but because I don't think mine had ever been taken off either. In taking off the driver's side the clip came off and had to be dug out, I hope in your case if that happens to you that you have small hands cuz mine got stuck on the lip of the bumper! here is my upgrade

Thanks for the picture and the info, I have those clear markers saved on ebay and plan on ordering those with my instrument cluster bezel. Im pretty sure I was on par with the screw driver size, but Ill go down one size to make sure. I hate the fact that the plastic bumper likes to bend when im pushing and turning, makes it that much more difficult. The only reason im bothering is b/c a cop told me im gonna get a ticket if I dont get those working. I cant imagine why both of them would be out and im hoping it doesnt have to do with the aftermarket keyless entry (IDK why I have an aftermarket one when the car came equipped from the factory)

if that's the case someone may have messed up the wiring... I would be concerned with that if you check your blubs and they're fine

You can access the bulbs from the back. Take off the front fender liner.

I have my filter in there and have worn out two sets of fender liners.... Getting to the back of the screw will also allow you to use some rust buster on it. I went with SS screws on the clears.

BTW I turned my clear corners into cornering lights that come on steady with the turn signal. Used an 18 w bulb for a fairly bright light. Also connected these to the backup lamps. This is really nice in a parking lot.

It's easy to change the turn signals into brake lights. The other two are reflectors and need to be modded to accept a bulbs. But once that is done just wire them into the existing wiring.

I think making the reflectors on the trunk lid into brake lights would look really cool. I think that my front-side indicators should come on when my parking lights are on anyway as the rear ones do.

the modding is what's gonna be hard I think, I'm gonna have to cut thru metal to get a light bulb in there, I'm gonna see what I can do though, I really want it done.

if I'm seeing it right a genIII on the genIII screensaver has my mod done unless it's just the way the flash is. I'll have to watch it and see if the name is listed. this would be the screensaver from last year BTW.

You don't have to cut through metal. The rear "light bar" comes off exposing the back of the reflectors. Then you just need to make the proper hole for the light socket you are going to use.

Cool cool, I'll see how well it will work, I was gonna use a genII rear LED because if you cut it in half it's perfect size, but then again if you cut it in half it wont work either  so i guess I'll have to deal with a light bulb.

Okay so I ordered the clear side markers off ebay a minute ago, I think those will look nice. I also bought the amber bulbs from Pep Boys. I got the pass. side marker off okay and changed the bulb, it works fine. The drivers side doesnt wanna come off and started to strip so I gotta work on that one this weekend. Off topic, Im thinking about ordering this guage bezel off ebay as well, but Im not sure if its worth it so Im asking your opinions of it:

This is the brushed aluminum one, they also have a brushed stainless steel im considering.

I had a brushed stainless one and it didn't fit good. That was about three years ago.

I just painted the one I had a pewter color.
