To get everyone in on my current problem I previously had a80mm MAF/LPM combo tuned just right recently I installed a 190lph fuel pump and dont know if I need to send out my LPM or not for. Ever since replacing the FP my fuel smell everytime I filled up my tank increased, now I want to eliminate every possible option before I drop the tank again to see if I broken a seal installing the 190lph FP.

The only thing I can think of is my fuel canister which I had replaced on my previous SHO with the same symtoms and fixed it just fine.

Does anyone else have any other ideas? fuel filter? bad carbon/vapor canister?

About the carbon canister is there a specific one for a 3.0L SHO or are they all the same for every Taurus?

*EDIT* I just did some searching found out that others have had this problems due to the Canister Purge (CANP) solenoid or vacuum controlled purge valve any idea if this is still being produced or carried by Ford? Or if it comes with the whole canister as a unit?

You can get a CANP solenoid at Napa, probably at Advanced Auto and Autozone, too (I've replaced mine).

If it were mine, I wouldn't purchase any parts or do anything else until I dropped the tank and looked things over. Maybe you kinked or broke a vent hose, it doesn't necessarily have to be a FP seal causing the gas odor.

IMO, problems at the tank must be ruled out first.

Its the first one, its the hose located in front of the throttle body, just follow the hose down to the solenoid. Auto Zone has it, I believe its universal for most Tauri.

In front of the TB like the hose is facing the firewall or facing towards the bumper? Also this valve also runs down into the canister in the drivers side fenderwell correct?

I think you can use either one, the one I took off and put on my '94 looked like the second one.

Look underneath the upper radiator hose and coilpack, the CANP valve should be there in plain view. There should be a hose running from the CANP valve to the intake which attaches to the intake right near the IAC.
