strange idle and surging

my 95 mtx is acting kinda funny... if i set the cruise it feels like it is surging up and down but i don't see the tack change, and when i first start it up it cranks a little wile and then jumps to about 1500 rpm then goes to about 1200 and wont idle at at 900 for a wile.... any body had a problem like this.... maybe the cable sticking or hanging up, or the tps going bad... it has not thrown any codes and the check engine light has not came on... any ideas

my car recently (within the past day!) developed a strange idle..when i start it, it will rev to about 1500 for a couple seconds, then quickly fall down below 1000..almost feels like it wants to die. Tonite while idling..the rpm's fell a lot..then suddenly the car revved up as if it was trying to keep itself running.

Earlier this week i got an 02 code..and its been crying wolf ever since..but i think the idle problems are related to the IAB (idle air bypass)..i've also noticed a slight chugging sensation while cruising around town at slow speeds..its done that for a while now..always blamed that on either a fouled up MAF or just the nature of my crappy ATX, but it seemed a lot more noticable tonite.

still a good idea to check your codes anyways..i'm going to do it tomorrow cause whenever i encounter my strange idle the CEL flashes twice upon initial startup..

two annoying electrical problems in one week (the idle problem the DAY i leave home for school)...what are the odds eh?
