After talking to SHONUT and showing him the measurements I have taken a few months ago he insisted that I post them. He said he is unaware of anyone actually getting these exact numbers. Well here they are from a 3.0L head.
Intake .342” max lift
Exhaust .325 max lift
Over lap is 2 deg cam from dead closed. 4 deg crank
Over lap from .050-.050 is -7 deg cam or -14 deg crank this is the number that is usually used to measure over lap.
I did do the duration as well and it was very close to what Josh has posted on his web site but I somehow do not have them in my notes anymore.
MTX Intake 0.348” Lift, 205° Duration @ 0.050”
MTX Exhaust 0.328” Lift, 201° Duration @ 0.050”
When turning the cams and looking by eye after exhaust stroke it looks like there is a moment when both valves are completely closed you need dial to see that there not.
I would think that there could be gains to be made by using a set of adjustable exhaust cams and making some overlap. But there might not be enough lift to really gain from it.
