I've been searching the net all night and have come up with a only a few ideas/options. There's the hall switch idea. I also thought of a similar idea to make a switch for the MTX by using a magnetic window switch (the kind they use for home alarm use that indicates whether or not a window or door has been opened). You could mount the one magnet on the shifter shaft, and the other off to the side (so the magnetic field would work when the two get close to each other - like in between 1st and 2nd gear, but in the neutral position). And for those of you that don't have any idea why I'm talking about this :) , it's to develop a switch for a remote starter than will only work when the MTX is in neutral. I know that the T-5 gearbox in the stangs has a Neutral Sensing Switch, but I don't knoe what it looks like, where it's located, or hwo it works. Also a Nissan 240 SX has one and it also senses 5th gear (for some reason), so I figure that one is of a mechanical design. Anyone know about this? Any other ideas? I wanna get a remote/start alarm soon (with a phat 2-way transmitter :) ) but I want to get this switch done first. Thanks. Sorry so long.

There are remote starters out there made specifically for MTX cars.

These were discussed several months ago. Maybe you can dig up those old threads.

I don't want one made for an MTX. They are too much of a hassle when it comes to shutting off your vehicle and arming it etc. Plus I don't think they make any that utilize a good tw0-way remote either, not that I've seen anyway.

What does cruise control have anything to do with my question? I said the Nissan 240 sx tranny has a neutral sensing switch/sensor and also has a sensor to tell whether it's in 5th gear or not. I have no idea why it does this bt it does.

Anyone else got any ideas?

The compustar alarm/remote start will work on a manual, It is a 2 way, and all you have to do to set it when you get out of the car is to put on the e-brake, put the car in nuetral (duh) and turn the key off. When you set the e-brake the unit takes over the car. When you get out and arm the car it shuts the car off and waits for the command to start.
