My 93 has a misfiring problem. I found a little oil in the plug wells. So I got all the oil out of them-so they were all completely dry. But now it still has the misfire. And it has smoke that streams out of the hood that you can only see at night. Any suggestions, I really want this fixed.

The oil probable damaged the sparkplug wires. You need to pull the intake and valve covers off and replace the gaskets. If you have oil, you can count on the 60k hasn't been done or it was done a long time ago. These cars are reliable, but you can't skip the maintenance or it will become unreliable.

Totally agree with Bob. The oil has damaged the wires. You need some new ones but before they get ruined too you need to change the valve cover gaskets and plug well seals so they will last. Its upper 60k time.

If you looked at the porcelin of the plugs you would see the carbon tracking down it. The same carbon track is inside the plug boot as well. Its possible to clean out the inside of the boot although Its not recommeded. They need to be degreased as well, the rubber ends need to be removed and thoroughly cleaned and glued back on. I could see doing this to a newer set of wires maybe. troubles are likely to continue if they aren't replaced.

Well I replaced the back plug wires and still the same problem. There wasn't much oil in there to begin with, but its all dry now. I guess I'll change the front plug wires on my next day off. I plan on replacing the gaskets and all come this spring, but I don't have the time and its to cold outside to do it now. It will just have to wait! Thanks for all the help we'll see how it goes on Friday.
